I’ll gladly shout it out again: What an acoustic! The Stavanger Concert Hall is a world-class hall! It is still a little unreal, and I pinch my arm between the movements of Britten’s piano concerto” (Leif Ove Andsnes, April 2018).

Flor & Fjære—Conference Dinner

During IMS2027, the conference dinner will take place at Flor & Fjære, a colorful and thriving garden and restaurant located on the island of Sør-Hidle in Ryfylke. The island is widely known as the world’s northernmost palm tree island, offering a unique and unexpected setting in the Norwegian fjord landscape.

Flor & Fjære is home to lush gardens featuring palm trees, beaches, ponds, waterfalls, exotic plants, and around 50,000 annual summer flowers, creating a vibrant and immersive environment. The evening begins with a pleasant boat ride from Bekhuskaien near Fiskepiren in Stavanger, followed by an approximately twenty-minute journey to the island.

On arrival, delegates are welcomed by the family and their guides, who introduce the beauty of the gardens and share stories and insights into their creation. A guided tour of the fifty-acre garden offers an insight into three generations of passion and dedication to developing what is often described as one of the world’s most beautiful gardens.

After the tour, the conference dinner is served in the palm restaurant. Following the meal, there will be time to enjoy the gardens independently before the return boat ride to Stavanger.
